Supporting people into work with digital apps
Derwen College has developed a number of apps that support people with learning difficulties and disabilities into work.
In October 2020 the suite of apps won the Innovation Award for Technology at the NASEN Awards 2020. The National Association for Special Educational Needs (NASEN) recognised the college’s achievements in creating a suite of apps which support students and young people with special educational into employment and independence.
The apps continue to be developed, and so far include
- CV Builder app
- Working in a café app
- Housekeeping (Premier Inn) app
- Print Shop app
- Getting to work independently
We are always looking for businesses in Shropshire to input regarding development of the apps and testing. If you are interested in being part of the project and would like to input into development and testing of apps with your workforce, please get in touch.
